I have contributed to various community arts programming efforts over the years through arts administration, project management, and teaching.
Through arts programming, I aim to create an inclusive and accessible environment where community members, regardless of age, background, or ability, can freely explore their creativity and imagination through visual arts. By centering equity and joy in the learning process, I encourage self-expression, collaboration, and play, ensuring every participant feels valued and inspired.
I have provided youth arts classes to kids aged 5+ with a variety of creative, fun, flexible, and affordable projects. I was a guest artist in the 2019, 2021, and 2022 East Side Arts Council’s annual Artmobile program. In 2020, I also taught an after school visual arts course at John A. Johnson Elementary School in East St. Paul, focusing on a session-long “Me-Book” project, in which participants made unique and creative pages each week to put inside a book about themselves. I have participated in various other arts programming through the East Side Arts Council, such as creating an Arts at Home video on basic fundamental embroidery techniques using household items during COVID-19.
